Description

This one was done using soft lead pencils and the "smudge" shading technique. I enjoyed drawing Zatanna, but chose not to have her pulling a rabbit from her hat, etc. I thought having Zee updating her social media using magic and a laptop was a little whimsical. The client liked the gag, so I was happy about that. It didn't seem very natural to have Zatanna wearing her hat, gloves and shoes here, so I decided they weren't necessary in this one. Drawing fishnet stockings involves a lot of guess work sometimes.

Thanks, Mark! The smudge rendering takes longer to do than the traditional comic book style pencilling, but I think the halftone effects are often worth all the extra effort. :)
