Description

The Uncanny X-Men's strongman, Colossus, walks through the abandoned city of Pripyat, near the Chernobyl Plant. I did this for a Colossus fan. Presented is an original composition feature the classic Colossus I grew up with. Hidden in the debris are the initials of two art teams that pencilled and inked the UNCANNY X-MEN in its hay day, and there is a crumbled Russian hammer & sickle also hidden in the debris. Look carefully--it's there! I was a huge fan of the Byrne/Austin and Smith/Wiacek run of the X-MEN, but I would like to dedicate this image to the memory of Dave Cockrum, who really gave life to all of these characters. R.I.P., Dave.
