Description

This is the biggest and most popular painting from the early years of Greg "Craola" Simkins career. This masterpiece measures 48x58in.

Here is what Greg had to say about this piece..

The idea for "Here Stands Matt Riddle" came to me after reading this section in Matthew in the Bible (hence the kid's name in the painting) chapter 7 (hence the letter with the number 7 on it)

"Matthew 7:12-...
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and to life, and only a few find it.
True and False Prophets
�Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep�s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

So the kid is a a fork in the road, one wife and easy to take, the other dangerous and difficult. He is at the point where he needs to choose but is being prompted by a wolf in sheep's clothing to take the wrong road.
