DescriptionThis was not our first choice of a cover for Chapter 3. We had a great Adam Hughes wonder Woman cover where we want to show Duo been seduced by a Controller/Trapper-type figure. Although John did a great job with it,and we will use it later on, it was too sudden a shift to be believeable. We went back and forth over the key events of her life, her death at the hands of Computo, her marriage to Bouncing Boy ( but it was a quick "YES"and wedding when she believed she was powerless, her early crushes on Superboy & Mon-el and thought that was more fertile ground to "turn" her. This lead to a debate about which image should we show and our passionate Legion fan discussion was solved by "variant covers ". We could show different key events..realistically combined it could show Duo, the 'Road Less Travelled and "Happy Ever Afters" that she never experienced. The beautiful Marie Severin Avengers cover gave us the template. We had fun picking the variants and I will share them all over this long holiday weekend. This was a late change, we were ten issues past this when we turned back to this point in the tale. But wishing that these events/images were true, will cause her to make some deadly choices and face unimaginable consequences. After all, the Road To Hell is paved with good intentions. As for the villain. There has been of course many variations and incarnations of the Time Trapper in Legion history. Mostly shown as hooded, what little we see is evil, ugly and downright scary. We have seen versions of history where the Trapper was revealed to be Superboy-Prime or even an ancient Cosmic Boy. While I have preferred the shrouded in mystery Trapper, we went with this version. In the Great Darkness Saga we see a "Time Trapper" been sucked dry of power by Darkseid's servants, which when he was revealed look a lot like one of the ancient race called The Controllers. Since his face was less frightening we thought that might work for drawing Duo initially in. Don't worry, the ugly Trapper reveals himself as,the dark dide of Duo comes closer to the surface. This is a long introduction but a lot of work and thought has gone into it. The images in the scanner are drawn not just from classic Legion covers ( albeit with a twist or three ) but also some cool non-Legion Silver Age gems. John drew those interior images in different styles which just adds to the overall fun. I say this a lot as I post commissions but TRULY in this project John Watson & Russell Payne have spent countless hours polishing and refining these images, so that the VERY BEST POSSIBLE LEGION STORY can be told. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. So, check tonights offering & come back for the variants. Enjoy Aidan Social/Sharing |

Come back tomorrow and you will see come other cool twists and turns. The "wedding" one has a nice twist but Mon-el & Superboy saving her from Computo (portrayed in a nostaglic Curt Swan style ) I felt would be a definitive turning point moment.

John Watson does it again...and makes it all look so elementary!
