DescriptionOur first variant in this group of images is a wedding one. The double paged wedding of Bouncing Boy & Duo Damsel is beautiful and legendary. It was the cause of Dave Cockrum leaving the Legion and re-vitalizing a failed franchise called the X-Men. I still dream about Nightcrawler & Storm as Legionnaires. But we wanted to give it a twist. Full credit to John Watson, he came up with the "Elseworlds" idea of a Superboy that looked like Chuck. The others inspired by the often devious fake romances of the Legion and the era of "Imaginary Tales ". It goes back to simpler albeit very sexist times. For each piece John captured a mood by utilizing very different styles Enjoy Aidan Social/Sharing |

I love the way you've utilized the concept of cover variants---what a treat to see a variety of "what might have been"!

While I generally see variants as a money making scam...I have to say I have used a fair amount of "variant" covers as templates but in this case, the "variants" really help to flesh out the story-line

I'm enjoying the ideas presented in each variant just as much as the art!

John did a great job of giving it a Cockrum type feel to the wedding scene.

I have to say, these variant covers are so cool. What might have beens is a better reason for variants than what comic companies actually use them for. These add to a great storyline I am in anticipation of each installment. Keep them coming!

Love this amazing piece. While the thought of Nightcrawler and Storm as Legionnaires is an intriguing one, my guess is that they would have never achieved the same level of popularity that they have as X-Men.
