DescriptionA beautiful concept illustration by famed Disney Imagineer Herb Ryman for the Ford pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair. Walt Disney created this and three other pavilions for the '64 Fair.Herbert Ryman (1910-1989) was one of the first and most influential of Disney's designers. He created the first design for Walt's new idea "Disneyland" in 1953. He also worked on projects such as Walt Disney World, Dumbo, and Fantasia. This charcoal on vellum illustration (ca. 1961) is a preliminary study for the "Germany and France" model in the "Ford International Gardens" portion of the pavilion. Years later, Ryman also helped design the Germany and France pavilions at Epcot Center. Social/Sharing |
