Description

So, it is Christmas time and I'm sitting around the house realizing that the past year's expenditures mean they'll be no commissions for at least the first half of 2012 and no published art either, unless I succumb to temptation.

At the same time, Spencer Beck's annual sale is on and incredibly the cover to Kirby Collector 53 featuring the titanic team-up of George Perez inks over Blue Lined pencils of some of Jack Kirby's most notable Marvel characters is on sale and still available.

Well, I'm wistfully talking about it to Amy and she says, "How about I buy it for you?" I stop and think about it and say, "No you just bought me the Frank Brunner, Justice Society Commission for Christmas, you're far too generous." My wife responds, " Okay, but why don't you think about it."

I do over the next few hours and then I say to her, " Why don't we put a request into Spencer and if it is available it can be a Valentine's Day Present."

The request was sent and some time later a note came from Spencer that confirmed I would be getting an incredible Valentine's Day present.

And they have also provided a smoking area, but sure that lady is quite annoyed... Seriously, congrats on this beautiful addition and on having such a generous wife!

I thought that piece was super-lovely when I saw it on Spencer's site. I'm so glad you ended up with it, and what a nice story to go with it. I think Sgt. Fury is my favorite. Congrats, Michael!

Thanks Lee, My favorite is the Rawhide Kid, only Kirby got that distinctive hat right and here it is perfect.
