DescriptionThis is another great Silke commission featuring Joan Collins in her role as Nellifer in Land of the Pharoahs.In that film, Pharaoh Khufu becomes obsessed with preparing his tomb for the "second life". Khofu enlists Vashtar to build him a robber-proof tomb - although Vashtar will have to die when the pyramid-tomb is completed. These guys never really think this stuff out! Princess Nellifer (Joan Collins) comes as the ambassador of the tributary province of Cyprus. Claiming her province is poor and cannot afford to pay the assigned tribute, she offers herself to Pharaoh instead and becomes Khufu's second wife. It doesn't take long for the intrigue to begin as first Nellifer questions whether Khufu really had as much gold as he says; so he shows her his stash gold and jewels. But he makes the mistake of telling Nellifer that this is for his "second life." Nellifer wants the treasure for herself and starts an affair with Treneh, the captain of the guard, who has become infatuated with her. Nellifer obtains a cobra from a snake charmer and plots to assassinate Khufu's first Queen, Nailla, and her son Zanin, so she can rule Egypt. When Khufu figures out Nellifer's treachery he first kills Treneh in a sword fight, but is wounded badly himself in the battle. He insists that Nellifer go with him to his burial chamber because she "must give the order" to seal the sarcophagus. But, when she does this both she and Khufu are sealed the tomb. Realizing she is trapped, Nellifer goes into hysterics and is told "There's no way out...This is what you lied and schemed and murdered to achieve. This is your kingdom."
