Description

Laugh out loud! Here are the Powerpuff Girls depicted realistically and in their twenties. The artist had to use his imagination to come up with features that are totally absent in the minimalist animated version such as what the tops of their costumes look like. In the cartoons, their bodies are just colored cylinders leading right into their oversized heads. All three have the initials of their Brazilian names; Florzinha (Blossom), Lundinha (Bubbles) and Docinho (Buttercup) on their belts.

Although I haven't been able to track it down, I'm sure that there is a picture of the three in front of a similar background posed as shown. As near as I can tell, their Brazilian name, Meninas Super Poderosas, means girls with super abilities.

DiAmorim, who is advertised by his US representative (www.comiconart.com) as "Amorim" is one of a group of Brazilian artists hoping to break into the US market as Al Rio did. If he keeps up the imagination and quality of work shown here, he should do well.
