DescriptionIt's rare that you get a 'grail'. It's really quite the moving experience.Avengers #15 has been my favorite comic since was a small lad. I've written articles about it, I've spent a lifetime treasuring it. I've commissioned other artists to create homages to it... many of which can be seen in my collection here at CAF. The reason for the recreations is because of my lifelong pursuit I know that as of this writing, only three pieces of art from this comic are known to exist. The other two pages are actually my favorites from the comic, but even this one... while maybe not as 'good' as the other two, is still AWESOME!!!! Layout by Jack Kirby, penciled by Don Heck, and inked by Mike Esposito, this is certainly a dynamic and dramatic page! It features what I now read as one of the corniest lines ever written in a comic, "Drop her-- in the name of The Avengers!!", but as a kid... WOW, that line resonated with me! Like The Avengers were law enforcement at some mega level! They BETTER drop her! lol Anyway, Avengers 15 changed my life in profound ways. If you'd like to read an article I wrote about it, copy/paste this link... http://www.geek-genie.com/index.php/comics/don-heck-a-tribute-by-larry-wilson Also I became a life long fan of Don Heck, ultimately creating 'The Don Heck Appreciation Page' on Facebook. It's a wonderful group, please join us! Hope you love this page as much as I do! Social/Sharing |

Very Cool! This was one of the first Silver Age books I tracked down, and was always special to me. I didn't know much about comics history, so I was pretty surprised at the ending. At one point I owned the page after this one. I traded it long ago, though as always, I wish I'd held on to it.
