Description

Undersea adventurer Dane Dorrance battles a Godzilla-like monster on this twice-up page from the story "The Golden Monster!" (July-August 1960) in Showcase #27, which introduced The Sea Devils to the DC Universe. The Sea Devils would headline the next two issues of Showcase, then earn their own series which ran for a respectable 35 issues (1961-1967). The early Sea Devils series covers and interiors featured more amazing art by the legendary Russ Heath.

I just went and bought Showcase Presents Sea Devils Vol. 1 after seeing this page. The art is absolutely mind blowing. They certainly don't make them like Heath anymore.

Nice to see a page survived - Russ cut a lot of them up to make a collage as a backboard for the first Nostalgiacon in Chicago in the 1970s

You should have taken away the scissors from him! Russ' work on Sea Devils is some of the nicest in comics.
