DescriptionI'm a huge fan of Vess' Spider-Man. My first Amazing Spider-Man book was #277, Vess cover, and story art. I've just always had a special place for his delineations of the character, and this is the closest I'll likely come to owning Web of Spider-Man #1.Created the same year as the aforementioned book, this has similar elements, Symbiote suited Spidey, crouched on a gargoyle, with a moon in the background. I was overjoyed to win this at auction at Heritage earlier this year. Special thanks to "Roger" for commissioning it all those years ago! Social/Sharing |

It was great seeing this in person at your place, and it's great to see it again now. While it's not your dream Vess Spidey, as far as consolation prizes go, this one's a doozy! Enjoy and treasure it my friend.

Roger had plenty of good times over the years, but one thing eluded him the most. This one piece of Vess art that was more dear to him than all the riches of the world. He knew the painting to issue one was lost forever in the land of make believe prices and unpublished covers and this was the genuine work that spoke to his heart. Roger, you blew it.
