I missed seeing a lot of Glanzman's art when it first came out, but I think I can appreciate it better now than I could then. There is a wood-block print quality to this page that I find both fascinating and very satisfying. (On a more personal note, I'm enjoying discovering your collection as you reveal it.)

That's the problem when an artist never really drew super-heroes. I honestly believe that his U.S.S. Stevens stories are among the best comic book stories ever published. I'd love to see DC collect them into a single volume.

Great work and story by Glanzman. It just gets to the point that, for several reasons, we will never know what we owe the WW II veterans.
