Description

I asked Joel Carroll to draw some more Legion villains for this, our 43rd commission! This time I asked Joel to draw a grouping that we'll probably never see in any published comic. Black Mace is a member of the Taurus Gang who is super-strong and an expert combatant with his maces, and he has repeatedly clashed with the Legion of Super-Heroes over the years. Ol-Vir is basically a prototype�of Superboy-Prime, in that he is an evil teenager with the powers of Mon-El. B.I.O.N. is a creation of the Dominators who has all of the powers of the Silver Age Legion, so he's almost unstoppable. Molecular Master is an extremely powerful android created by the Time Trapper who has been repeatedly sent against the Legion, and who has repeatedly failed in his missions. And finally, Shagrek is another member of the Taurus Gang who is super-strong and has the ability to fire disintegrator beams from his antennae.

From left to right, here we have Black Mace, Ol-Vir, B.I.O.N., Molecular Master, and Shagrek. First off, I love the terrain these guys are standing on! You've got pipes and metal structures and lots of rocks filled with holes! It just looks cool. B.I.O.N. is trying out his superhero pose, because, well, he's got the powers for it. Shagrek is the dumb muscle of this squad, so of course he's warming up his fist. Molecular Master is all powered up, and I love how Joel has Ol-Vir looking all aloof as if he's better than the rest of this group. As usual, a huge thanks to Joel for all his fantastic work on all of these Legion commissions!

How can you call BION a villain when he killed Atmos. That makes him a humanitarian!
