Description

Published on August 16, 1957--from my favorite era on the strip, the mid '50s through the mid '60s. Schulz's linework is a little more smooth and refined, and his humor has a bit more of an edge. Classic Lucy personality on display in this strip, along with Linus and good ol' Charlie Brown. One thing I didn't expect when I acquired this piece was its size; while later strips are on smaller artboard, this one is huge at 29" by 7".

Classic Charles Schulz Peanuts strip! I really love strips from this era as Schluz was still developing the characters we all love and remember. This is such an iconic example of Lucy's character! Love that third panel where Linus is literally bowled over by Lucy's criticism. And of course, I love that final panel where she reverts right back to her original statement about the love in her family, despite just having demonstrated the complete opposite. You got a winner!
