Description"Stop me if you've heard this one before.A Spider walks into a bar ..." Boomerang speaks these words on this very fun cover by Humberto Ramos where Peter is sipping a soda amongst a throng of B, C and D list villains, including my fave, the lovely White Rabbit! And she's A+ in my book, baby. Last week I posted the cover for the previous issue, which began a two-part story where Peter (pretending to be a villain named "The Liar") and his annoying roommate (and ex-villain) Boomerang go to the Bar With No Name for Trivia Night. While there, the Kingpin puts a bounty on Boomerang's head. All the criminals assault him and Peter en masse. Boomerang manages to procure a weapon for Peter, but things get out of control, and Boomerang actually takes a scorcher blast intended for Peter. Peter then tries to bluff his way out of trouble as "The Liar," giving Boomerang enough time to use one of his exploding boomerangs to provide a distraction for them to escape. The two end up having a nice heart-to-heart where Peter finds out that Boomerang really might have turned over a new leaf. Anyway, love this cover, really enjoyed this story line, and thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

Great all around covers to a fun excursion for Spidey learning about his new roommate. The relationship even resulted in a new costume for Spidey recently! So would this be the birth cover of that costume?

This is so fun, and it's even got cute Bunny Girl! By the way, a few years ago in the Mike Perkins illustrated Iron Fist series, Danny teamed up with Sabretooth, the latter who wanted to get intel on whether his former partner, the constrictor was alive, or dead as was assumed. So they went into a bar full of supervillains and Sabretooth hassled the Tarantula to get some info. So would that be the same bar this is? I have no recollection of "Bar With No Name" being mentioned, but if it did, I may not have even noticed as it would've meant nothing to me, seeing as how I was never aware Marvel had such a bar that made appearances throughout their comics. Anyway, fun stuff as always!

Heh. Pete having the most uncomfortable soda he will ever have. And Roxxon soda? Ramos strikes again. :) He sets the scene like a cinematographer, with great balance and a bustling feel. I can almost hear the susurration of conversation. And the backstory is fantastic. Another awesome one, Paul! Congrats!

I really dig cover images that have alot of details to capture the eye like this one does. The way Ramos draws the personality into the image of each character is absolutely brilliant! Congrats man!

I mean...with this image, what other line could you use?! :) Makes me wonder if it was decided that this was gonna be the line and Humberto was instructed to draw the cover around that. In any case, a fun piece for sure! I love how the White Rabbit's so intently listening. And I dig any cover featuring the Spot. He's been an A lister in my book since WAY back in the days of '80s Spectacular Spider-Man! Congrats, Paul!

Probably my favorite issue of a Spidey comic in a long time. And by now it is already 4 years old. What does that say about me and my comic reading? Lol!
This is just like your cover to #6 (LGY #808)- fun, funny, and light-hearted. Just what I want from comics today and what I'd like Spidey to be much of the time.
Who doesn't love and appreciate at least a few oif the B, C, and D level Spidey villains?
Saving this to my favorites. Thanks for sharing!

This is one of my absolute faves too. To have Peter (in his civilian identity) hanging out in a bar filled with his villains, playing a game of trivia that centers around the exploits of his alter ego Spider-Man? It's just too delicious for words! And then a fight ensues where he teams up with his new bro-buddy Boomerang? So fun, funny and light-hearted as you pointed out. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and enjoyment of this cover!
