DescriptionI just loved the "Hunted" story line. Kraven the Hunter gathered all of Spidey's animal-themed villains and placed them in a forcefield-domed Central Park for various fat-cat investors, in the form of virtual Hunter-Bots, to hunt. Of course Spidey is thrown into the mix, and Black Cat & the Lizard are involved as well.In this cover image, we see Kraven battling the Lizard as Spidey crouches underneath a bridge and observes the spectacle. The inking is extraordinary on this piece. Humberto's style is always evolving, and at this point he was working his way towards the style that he is currently employing for the Strange Academy series, which I have enjoyed so much! My CAF friend Michele M has a ton of pages from that series, if you wanna check them out. Here's a sample: https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=208872 Social/Sharing |

Loving all the scratchy linework, Paul, and good point regarding Humberto's evolving style - have definitely seem some killer stuff on Strange Academy. And you hadn't seen Humberto's Lizard much up until this arc, so I love that, too. Definitely dig his rendition. And the that creeping Spidey in the background is a nice bonus! Congrats, man!

Awesome! Sounds like some damn fine reading! Congrats on this piece. Love the lighting. So horror esque and esoecially with Spidey creeping as if he's not going to stop a damn thing. Lol

Man, I gotta admit, every time I see another one of his pieces, he seems to continue to evolve his style and the further away it looks from the "old" Ramos, the more of a fan I become! Nice, creepy assed double villain battle!

This is just a great Ramos cover, the use of shadow brings the bridge forward into the foreground with Spidey looking on at the action.

Very nice Ramos cover, a bit of a departure from what I am used to seeing but it works so well. Love the darks and heavy inks. Congrats on another killer Ramos piece of art in the collection! Thanks for sharing!

"Man, is there any way they can both lose?" - Hopeful Spidey (happy they are beating each other and not him!) No kidding that Ramos' style has changed! I haven't read strange academy yet, but I am very impressed. It's like he took on some aspects of Sean Murphy's and Mike Perkins' styles, while still staying clearly Ramos. It looks fantastic! Rich pencils, and his inks have gone to an entirely new level. And that layout! I noticed him before, but now he has my full attention. Gorgeous score, Paul. Big congrats!

Really took my time with this one before commenting. There is a lot going on in this cover. Much of it very subtle that lends so much to the cover's appeal. Really great addition to your collection Paul!
