DescriptionOn this beautiful & hyper-detailed DPS by the great Mark Bagley, Spidey uses his incredible spider agility to dodge a slew of 'teleportation spots' manifested by the super villain Coyote!Coyote is there on the second page between the biggest Spidey's legs. I love pieces like this that use multiple images of the hero to indicate super-quick motion and acrobatic prowess. I also love Dexter Vine's stunning inks on this one. Thanks for looking! holy cow! this is a stunner of a DPS for the reasons you said in the description, all those images of Spidey used to convey quick and acrobatic movement and evasion of Coyote's powers - and those images progressively getting larger until you get to the biggest image - so cool! awesome Bagley page with top notch inks by Vines. congrats Paul!

What a great action scene! The stop motion / flip book approach to showing swift Spidey moves is a favorite (way cooler than "whoosh" lines) and this is def one of the better examples I've seen. Found myself doing that Bionic Man sound effect in my head, as I followed the action.

This stunning dps is a perfect showcase of one of my favorite visual techniques in superhero comics: the use of multiple overlapping images of Spider-Man to convey speed, agility, and balletic motion through space. Bagley absolutely nails the sense of kinetic energy here. Each version of Spidey flows seamlessly into the next, turning what might at first glance seem chaotic, into something that feels choreographed and purposeful.
Also, the black teleportation spots are a gorgeous way to inject the composition with weight, creating an almost disorienting feeling which I think contrasts beautifully with Spidey’s precise, acrobatic motion. This compositional balance make this not just a great action sequence, but also a study in spatial storytelling, showing why Mark Bagley has for many years now been one of the best and most important artists to ever work on the character, and with every passing year he only solidifies his place atop that pantheon of greats.
These are the kinds of exciting pieces that remind me why I love the art form so much. Congrats on landing this beauty, Paul!

Wow, what a great comment, thank you! I gotta say, I totally agree with you on all your points, from the outstanding visual techniques to Bagley's well-earned title of one of the greatest ever Spidey artists. And yeah, this piece excited me from the moment I first saw it, and I'm thrilled to have it in my collection!

It's interesting that you should say that, cuz Coyote began as a Daredevil villain. Thanks for the comment!

Bagley pieces like this don't come around very often! From the small to large Spider-Man images, every one of them has Bagley using sharp focus for the acrobatics unique to Spider-Man!
