DescriptionI have been a fan of Maleev for quite some time. His style reminds me of Sienkiewicz but with more emphasis on control and anatomy/realism. When I saw that Maleev was taking a commission list I took my shot at getting on, and the results speak for themselves.I asked for a battle damaged Spidey that was slinging web at whomever was attacking him. Maleev delivered on this. The detail in the extended left arm slinging the web, and the contrast and lighting make this such a great piece to look at. Social/Sharing |

Maleev isolates Spidey by removing any focus on the background to show off the compact design and pose! The action really hits with some Toby Maguire intensity with the old school low tech costume.

So nice, man! Love how the webbing is rendered, and it provides some great depth, too. Gotta love the torn man mask, and that touch of orange vs the blueish grey in the surrounding background...subtley effective stuff. Congrats!

Great torn mask! You're right on Maleev and his strength in anatomy. He got your request exactly right. Congrats on another wonderful addition!

This is wicked! The bit of color in the back really makes it pop!

Very cool battle-damaged Spider-Man by the great Alex Maleev. Simple grey background allows Spider-Man to pop forward. White streaks stand in for his webbing. Spidey looks intense with one eye exposed where his mask has been torn off. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!

Maleev never fails to disappoint and this is yet another spectacular Spider-Man from him. Even if he is battle damaged :) Congrats Eric!
