Description

One of the finest modern series of the last decade is "The Sixth Gun" by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt. Brian is a co-creator and the main artist on the title and he's a friggin' genius in the genre. If you haven't read The Sixth Gun you are missing out on something really special.

When the opportunity arose to have Brian do a cover quality commission for me I jumped at the chance. I wanted something for my theme, but primarily I wanted something Sixth Gun-related. General Hume, the main antagonist of the series is searching and murdering and making deals with every dark force in the universe in order to gain control of all Six Guns and unleash (what he believes) is the ultimate power. At his side in this piece stands Missy Hume, his crazy-eyed, murderous, and more than a little creepy wife..kept youthful through the power of one of the Six.

In this piece Hume has defeated the well-known characters of the series (from left to right): Drake Sinclair, Becky Montcrief, Gord Cantrell, Billjohn O'Henry, and Kirby Hale. They are wrapped in the "Cold Iron" chains that had restrained Hume for so long and they their casket bear the marks of the first Five Guns, while he has The Sixth Gun tucked into his belt.

Brian absolutely killed this idea...beat it to a bloody pulp. When he was done I had a piece that perfectly captured both the series I love and my theme.
