DescriptionI am a HUGE fan of Steve's work, and with good reason, he is brilliant. I commissioned a piece for pickup at Florida Supercon, but Steve actually did it early. How cool is that??Social/Sharing |

Don't know what it is about Batman and gargoyles, but it sure does make for some killer drawings! Congrats bud.

It almost looks like Bradstreet did the gargoyle and Epting did Batman. Great piece.

Ari, how do you do it??? This is insanely good!! The juxtaposition of Batman and the gargoyle is the best I've seen so far in your collection- gives the feeling that Batman is 'taming the wild beast'. I also thought of Bradstreet pertaining to the gargoyle but I'm not taking away from Epting. He did a stellar job with the contrasts and atmosphere/mood. Huge Congrats! :D

The best gargoyle illustration I've ever seen ! Almost steals the show from the pitch-perfect illustration of Batman ! I think I now have a new favorite in your gallery !

Gorgeous piece; love the difference in detail between Bruce and the Gargoyle. He's taut and refined, while the Gargoyle's weathered and worn. Fantastic!

Epting certainly answered the bell with this one, Ari. There are some intriguing textural, and potentially narrative, choices on display here. The gritty and weathered gargoyle and architextural features contrast markedly from the almost ethereal quality of Batman standing transcendent above Gotham. Just unbelievably original and refreshingly bold. Kudos, Ari.

This might be one of the best images on the entire CAF site. I can't stop studying it. The angle, the balance, the draftsmanship... this is remarkable.

It could almost be a black and white photograph - the details of the Gargoyle and buildings are that refined. Loving the sweep of Bats cape round him and then over the Gargoyle. Think this has become my fave from the collection. Should be a poster or a cover for sure!
