I love this run too Aaron! It was the first peek at the 4th World and I was ready to jump in!

That third panel showing the front of the Mountain of Judgment is "Don't ask, just buy it!" Kirby-rrific! As for me, I came in on the King's last issue of his Jimmy Olsen run because my dad saw the Newsboy Legion (a childhood fave) on the cover and picked it up (ahem) for me. It was great, but the next issue wasn't Kirby and I lost interest in Superman's Pal. I only ever read that crazy initial burst of imagination later in my teen years after going through the back issue bins of various dealers at various comic shows (and, later, mail-order comic shops). In the end, it took a while, but I found it was worth the effort. Cheers!

These coddled whippersnappers of today, with their deluxe reprints and their Ebay, will never understand the joys and ardours of our hunts. To this day I think I'm still missing one issue of the run...
