You can tell Pino did these fast, but that's what i like about them. I love when a great artist works quick. More pure energy/ expression.

I love it! do you know Roy Huxley? he did some matchbox box art ,there is the same kind of energy in his art.

Had a look-- bit tighter than Pino, but very talented.

I agree the finished boxed art are in a way less interesting than the prelim ,I love the quick color sketches .

I have to check I found some pictures few years ago from an auction and saved them, I am sure I still have them somewhere I will dig on my HD I don't own one (I wish ) .

Despite working so quickly, Pino's illustrations of military hardware are always accurate. The only other comic book cover artists who had Pino's knowledge of tanks, ships, and aircraft were Scotland's Ian Kennedy and Argentina's Jose Maria Jorge.
