DescriptionA great nostalgic intersection of fantastic Kirby Thing art mixed with the culturally important Beatles haircut... Jack came up with the concept in 1965 when the Beatles were still known mostly for their haircuts (especially among conservative people) and Jack used a similar drawing on the cover of Strange Tales #130 (see below). This piece could have been a first drawing of the published, similar version. This Kirby inked and signed art was published in Wally Wood's Witzend #1. It's wonderfully dated now, which adds to its charm. 4" x 4" ink art over pencil, on a larger heavy art board.Social/Sharing |

Very fun piece Rob! You can't go wrong combining the greatest comic artist with the greatest band ever. Congrats!

Great piece Rob. I saw this at New York Comic-Con in 2000. And it’s not aged a bit.

Is it just me, or does The Thing + Ringo = Cousin Eerie? This is a really neat piece, congrats!

I love the Thing (my favorite hero), the King (my favorite artist), and the Beatles (the greatest pop band of all time). This is quality Kirby stuff!
But I gotta say......"Thingo Starr" is creeping me out a bit.

I'm not sure, but I think this was from that short period where Ben Grimm was laid off by Reid Richards, and he got a part-time gig introducing Witching Hour stories.
