Description

This is one of the interior illustations for THE POOL OF THE BLACK ONE by Robert E. Howard published by Donald Grant as part of his deluxe Conan series. Hank owned an advertising agency and was a fairly successful commercial artist, but he always wanted to work in the fantasy field. He finally got his chance fairly late in his career, illustrating stories for ANALOG, WEIRD TALES, ASIMOV'S, D&D, and this book for Grant. Extremely nice guy who died way too young.
