Evan, this piece is much smaller than it appears on screen with only a 7" x 9" image area. Matania worked fairly small but in layers of detail. It's effect is almost photographic in actual size. I recently discovered an archival silent film of the man at work: http://www.britishpathe.com/video/fortunino-matania
