DescriptionOne of the great ensemble covers for the Marvel Star Wars series (like the Star Wars #107 cover), featuring mainstays like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Lando, and Chewbacca along with expanded universe characters from the time like Luke's confidant Kiro, Dani the Zeltron, Plif the psychic Hoojib who would later fight the Yuuzhan Vong, Han's fellow Corellian Rik Duel, Stenaxes, Greedo's cousin Chihdo, and some pre-Huhk Lahsbees who would later square off against the Ewoks. Frenz did the art for Star Wars #67, 71-77, 79-82 and 99. This this piece has a cover date of January 1984, the same month Star Wars #84 was released. I really, really want to try to remove the logo stat to see if the pencils for the C-3PO as Forbush Man corner box art is on the board :).Social/Sharing |

This should have come with a GRAIL ALERT warning! This cover definitely brings back fond memories. I was 12. Marvel Age was a book that I looked forward to each and every month. Ron Frenz cranked out consistently great MARVEL SUPERHERO ART and I definitely liked his run on STAR WARS better than any other artists. Thanks for sharing this. Great score.

I re-read the last 40 or so issues of the Marvel run prior to the cover arriving, and there really are some decent storylines and characters there. I'm glad a lot of the EU books have picked up on it and ran with them.

I remember bidding on this in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith came out. I was high bidder but did not meet the reserve. This is a great cover.
