Description

Batwoman by Ron Salas

Kathy Kane debuted in 1956 as an acrobat who imitated�Batman to both fight crime and win Batman's heart, and she was fairly successful at both. Then in 1979, she was killed off because the Bat-books were becoming darker and more serious, so there was no room for fun characters like Kathy. But thankfully, Grant Morrison came along many years later and�resurrected Kathy, making her the head�of the super-spy organization Spyral. I love the fun and silly characters just as much, if not moreso, as the serious ones, so I was excited to commission Ron to draw the original Batwoman for me. And Ron did a fantastic job, making this commission a companion to his Batgirl commission from nine years ago. I love Kathy's eyes and hair, and the light and shadows in this piece are just fantastic. Big thanks to Ron for these always amazing commissions!

Fantastic use of shadows. The costume works so much better in a black and white piece such as this.

I'm a sucker for a good spotlight, pure black and white image - and this hits all the numbers. The volume of the cape, the minialistic detail where the light would wash it out - this is just so well done. Congrats on this!!

Fantastic throwback character in a throwback spotlight brick wall. The pose and the flow of cape and hair is ravishing.
