Description

I love the silent repose of this page as Alan Scott, the new Green Lantern of Earth-2, honors his now dead love, Sam.

During SDCC 2012 at one of the many panels focused on gays in comics, James Robinson said we have not heard the last of Sam yet. I loved that he is honored with Green Lantern's ring and that his love for Sam is what anchors his power. I am curious as to what form Sam will take in Alan Scott's future. Hopefully, his death and such short life was just not a plot device.

It's a good thing and a bad thing that these pages are hard to get I guess. Good because that means more people care about the significance of gay presences in comics to want these special pages as I do. Bad because now it's more competitive to get these pages !!!

From All-American Comics #16, Alan Scott is holding a dark-haired male after the train crash. This was the friend who died in the train crash back in 1940. To me, these guys seemed kinda close...
