Special thanks to my amigo Jeff for this one.

I am now the proud owner of both splashes from the already legendary Thor Issue #600, created by one of my favorite all-time artists, Olivier Coipel. And the inks by Mark Morales are stunning! -- they add just the right amount of power and drama to the battle scene.

I know how you feel J! Thanks to you I still have my favorite Coipel piece, but it was hard letting this one go^ I completely agree with adding Coipel to the very best ever to work on the title. This piece is the perfect example of why. Through the Thor title's history, no other artist has shown the detail and complex layouts to show impact the way Coipel and Morales have. Long gone are the days of Kirby's "THOOOOM", or Walt's "BOOM!!". They were replaced with intricate shading and texturing to show the power of Thor's swing. I would even make an argument for Coipel's art work being the best the title has ever seen if it weren't for the significance of Kirby's contribution to the character as a whole. But the argument can be made because of pages like this;) congrats amigo!!!

Coipel's Thor is one of the best interpretation ever. Run with Straczynski has become one of my personal modern myth. Congrats!
