Description

This was a page that I bought at Mr. Byrne's last appearance at Mid-Ohio Con. He had a really long line for autographs. I saw everyone in front of me getting his limit of 20 or 25. I ONLY EVER ASK FOR ONE OR TWO. I usually have one book, and I ask for that particular convention's poster to be signed and poersonalized to me.

I saw that the line next to him for his original art was only one or two people. I looked at the cover of his Silver Surfer one-shot from the 80's and a lot of other great stuff (I think they had the MTU two-page spread of his first X-Men). They had a bunch of his Wonder Woman, and X-Men the Hidden Years pages. I buy my art by price usually (have to). I pages through and pulled out 5 or 6 that were all the same price, (the cheapest) and I picked this one because I like Mister Miracle and Barda from the original Kirby series.

His art agent was a nice fellow. I don't recall his name, but he sold me on one of his sketchbooks, and asked if I wanted anything else signed. I had my Alpha Flight #1 ready, and he signed it to me! I went from the back of the line to the front with a piece of original art! Victory!

Great story, I love seeing the big acquisition My whole collection was built in the bargain bin as well, congrats on getting this great page by you're favorite artist, it's really cool
