Great page from a great story. It reveals Steve Rogers is a stand up person and is still Cap even out of the costume when volunteering his time. The surprise on his face with the reveal of Bucky's sister on this page is handled quite well. ![]() Thank you Marcus! Absolutely! Action stories are great, but I have always appreciated the stories that were more on the quiet side and showed more character depth. |

Exceptional! Wish I could see this close up! ![]() Rob, the line work is crazy. When I was talking to Ralph about it at a convention that we did together, I was telling him how much I loved the honeycomb/scale texture that he used on Magnus Robot fighter during his run. I wanted him to use that texture on Aquaman, and he took it to the next level with the monster, fish, and all of the detail. |

Nice page! I think I was there when you bought this page. At the time I didn't have any extra spending money so I didn't even look threw his huge stack of pages but when I over heard him tell you what he wanted for it. I wished I had some extra cash on me. Joe contacted me recently about having these pages available after I posted my Superman 123 page. I hope we get to see him again in the CT, RI, or MA area. Thanks for sharing. ![]() Thanks Mike! It was really awesome that Joe could make it from the West Coast. You have a couple of nice pages from him too, that Superman page is spot on. I am a little partial to your Lee/Bill X-men page though! I hope it was worth it for Joe and he made enough money to want to come back. He seemed to be selling a lot of art, but who knows if it was enough to cover his expenses. I think he would kill it at the Boston show if he ever wanted to do it. At the next show stop by and say 'Hi'! I will be at all of the New England ones, and I have some projects coming out after the TMNT that I did of characters that people have heard of. I can't post what they are yet, but one of them will be out on Free Comic Book Day. |

As my collection may attest - I rather liked the Superman Blue design. The costume redesign stood the test of time better than most. If Superman Blue had a better backstory and resolution, I think it would have fared better, as the only problem with the concept was that the story wasn't really thought out. This is a truly great example of the Frenz/Rubinstein team (which illustrated that costume best) ! Congrats ! ![]() That splash you have of Superman Blue is awesome! Thanks for checking out the page. I honestly didn't read the whole run when it originally came out. I read it until Superman Red showed up, and then I jumped off. As I have re-read some story lines that were panned in the past, I have found that I have really enjoyed them now. I would like to see if Superman Blue is the same. Have they reprinted it in chronological trades? |

:) and yet Ian, as I'm looking at these pages I'm thinking that I -really- like your inks over Darryl's pencils. Some nice work here. ![]() Thanks Kevin! That's very kind of you. To be sure, I worked my ass off at the time, but I was still new to brushwork back then. I still have some bluelines of Darryl's work lying around. I will have to give it another go. I hope Darryl gets another crack at some mainstream work soon. His stuff is under-appreciated in my book. |
