Beautiful page! Love Darryl's work.
First box doodle on CAF! Thought Hulk would fit in with your Defenders run you were working on.
Thank you, Jonathan! Glad you enjoy it. Those Warlock comics were such a big deal to me when I first started reading Marvel books!
So glad you like it Victor! Thank you for posting it and for all of the kind words.
Thank you Jason! Talked to Stan about a Tick/Usagi crossover issue at SDCC the year this came out, but he said he was too busy at the time. Maybe one day!
Great cover to a terrific issue. Wonderful stuff.
Thanks Duke! That's not a bad idea! Where were you when I needed you years ago!? (Just kidding around)
It was fun. I had to put a nod to Paul the Samurai in it. His status as a private eye from the Sean Wang era of The Tick comics featured prominently in my pitch for potential book.
Thanks Colin! One of those dumb luck days at a small show for me. The Attleboro show is not around anymore. Harry still runs shows in Franklin these days.
Thanks John! Never know if I'll get another chance to draw a Conan cover, so I gave it my best shot.
Howard said something like, "I sell these cheap because I don't care." I'm paraphrasing, but it's close to that.
Thanks! My birthday is on the 16th, this was just a gift for myself. I'll pass, but THANKS!
Great page! Love it.
Thank you Marcus! Absolutely! Action stories are great, but I have always appreciated the stories that were more on the quiet side and showed more character depth.
Thanks Michael! Indeed, so many great stories in this issue! Cockrum X-Men, Buscema Thor, Art Adams/Simonson FF! So many great creators hooked me instantly!
Thanks Tom! Some great memories in those trips to the Museum. Very happy to have something from Frank in my collection. I was a broke art student on all of those trips, so anything more expensive than a poster was impossible.
Thanks very much! It was a lot of fun to do, and I wanted to do more of an action/storytelling-based cover.
Thank you! He was a tremendous artist for sure! I'm thankful I get to look at this page in-person.
Thanks very much! It's got some really great movement to it.
Thanks man! Always thought Wyatt was cool. Not sure what he's up to these days.
Thanks! Loved when he used it in this period on She-Hulk, Sub Mariner, and OMAC.
Amazing work and a great guy. Very happy to have this piece in my collection. Cheers!
Thanks Damon! Absolutely agree! Mike did some killer sketches at that show.
I like this one a lot because it's by three friends, and it's a good piece of art.
I was pretty happy with it! When I took it over to Marc, he was amused to see his early stuff.
Thanks Eric! Very cool. I think I first saw his stuff in X-Men, but I am a huge Conan fan.
Thank you, John! Working on the next Tick assignment now for the San Diego Comic Con Special, and I hope it's even better!
Thank you Jul-Kha! With this one, I was able to use something closer to my style. On the TMNT Animated one, there were much more strict style guidelines that I had to follow.
THANK YOU! It was quite fun to work on.
Totally agree Damon. Rich did a great job. While I was coloring the final piece, Rich used it as a teaching opportunity and gave me great notes. Nice fellow, and I can't recommend him enough to people that commission art from professionals.
Wow! Very excellent collection. I really dig the Cosmic Broderick piece.
Thank you sir! I highly recommend reaching out to him for a commission. He was very professional, and his rates were very reasonable.
Thanks Dean! He also did a very nice Dr. Doom for a pal of mine. It wasn't easy deciding on a character.
Thank you so much Michael! He was super nice. Now, to hunt down a copy of the book.
