DescriptionHere's the finished ball point pen drawing of this year's San Diego art print. The main figure is drawn with a ball point pen (Bic black ink, medium point) and background is drawn with a micron pigma pen (size 01, black ink). The original art size is 23.5" x 17". I'll be at the Big Wow Art booth in San Diego, adjacent to Jim Silk, Adam Hughes and Mark Schultz's booths. Steve Morger is my art agent. Bother him. Great Work... what type of ballpoint pen do you use? Is it a standard one you'd find in any office cubicle, like a Papermate Medium Tip ink pen, or a special art store high end pen? Amazing detailing...

It's a standard black ink Bic ball point pen with a meduim point that you see in offices. I got a box of 60 pens at the local Staples store. I've used about 5 ball point pens to draw this piece. After awhile, the ball point tip gets gummy or the ink flow becomes inconsistent, then I grab a new ball point pen from the box.

A standard ball-point pen? I've been a fan of your work for such a long time and I never knew that you worked with a standard ball-point pen... WOW!!!! You are truly a master at your craft, this is a stunning piece and I'm forgetting about taking up my pencils again lol

And Steve just confirmed that it's too late to buy it! Poor me. Really a stunning piece Frank. And at 23.5*17, it must be quite a big queen...Yesterday was our Bastille Day but I could live in a kingdom with such a Queen.

Fantastic! The Lady is pure Cho (just gorgeous!), while all the work on the background brings me directly to the Franco-Belgian "ligne claire", all creating a very attractive contrast... Thanks for sharing this beauty!

All I can say, after browsing through your art here once more. With your grasp of the beauty of the female form, you probably would have been one of the old masters, if you lived in the right time frame.
