Description

Maybe even better than a "cliffhanger" page is an opening page from a story.
First of all you have a nice big splash-panel and you are also being introduced to the whole plot of the story ; starting up at Minnie`s birthday party. And the trouble begins when Mickey gives Minnie a medallion as a present..
This is the exciting opening page from the Mickey Mouse story : "Sign of The Scorpion" frpm 1970.
Actually I believe this might be the eldest opening page for a complete 24 page story by Paul Murry that has survived. ( Correct me if I am wrong )
In this beautiful opening page we are introduced to nearly all of the main characters from the storyline : Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Goofy, Clarabelle Cow, The Detective and even the mysterious boy outside the window.
A top page by Paul Murry and certainly from one of my favorite long Mickey Mouse adventure stories.
Storyline by the great Carl Fallberg.
Thanks a lot to Joe Torcivia ( former editor at DC ) for letting me be the next caretaker of this great page.

It is kind of a cliffhanger as the mysterious figure in shadow must want that medallion for some reason. It makes you want to turn the page to read more.
