DescriptionAnd now the crown jewel from Como. Been after a painted Lone Wolf piece from Bill for a while. 10+ years....When he Finally got to it he did not disappoint. To thank him I painted his portrait. Was a great moment only Como can deliver. enjoy.P.S. the scanner can't capture that fluorescent orange, I did my best but it really glows in person. UPDATE: This won the CAF people choice award for best commission of '24. Thanks to all the voters but really all the credit belongs to Bill. What an honor for him but also to be the custodian of this piece. Social/Sharing |

It really vibrates! The Gate kind of still has the glow but he put the orange around the main figure and the scan just didn't really cature it.

Thanks definitely a HUGE grail for me, and getting to hang with Bill a bit was the icing on the cake.

Thanks Been chasing this for a long time and it turned out way beter than I ever expected. Giving your two Pope LW&C pieces a run for their money ;-)

Sienkiewicz's colors never fail to impress! He uses them in such a celebratory manner here with bright and kaleidoscopic mix of colors unlike anyone else can even approach.

Not the color palette I would ever associate with LW&C. Which makes it even cooler. Congrats!

Ha - very true. Bill always pushes the boundaries and still makes it work. The scan dulls the orange a bit it really glows in person.

Thanks Jeff. Glad you liked both paintings. I know you are a big a fan of Bill's work and knew you would appreciate seeing the painting in person. And thanks for showing me your Kojima piece, that was a real treat. I have never seen one in person.

Stunning! An amazing commission of Lone Wolf and Cub that only Bill Sienkiewicz could deliver! I love the figure of Ogami Ittō, as he draws his dōtanuki battle sword from its sheath, slowly, carefully, elegantly. And I love the pose of Daigoro, his son, staring directly at us without showing a hint of emotion. Behind them is a large Torii gate, which marks the transition from the normal everyday world to the sacred. This is well thought-out and beautifully painted commission that any fan of Lone Wolf and Cub would love to own. My sincere compliments to the artist and the collector who commissioned it.

Hey BIll Thanks for the thoughful comment. I was that smart collector who asked for this commission ;-) but it was basically Lone wolf and Cub and I let Bill take care of the rest. He delivered above and beyond but being able to get it from him in person and give him my painted portrait of him was a great moment. I think the shared admiration for each others work and the same art heroes, definitely elevated each of our pieces.
