DescriptionThis issue features the first appearance of Eddie as CARNAGE!In this Venom Island story, Eddie has fled to the island of Isla de Huesos, where he and his Venom symbiote lived years ago. He is trapped on the island with both the Venom and the Carnage symbiotes, and of course this leads to some gritty drama. And weapons. Lots of awesome weapons. At the end of issue #23, a severely weakened Eddie is knocked out by a lightning bolt, and the Venom and Carnage symbiotes race each other to bond with him. Carnage wins. This cover is also a wonderful homage to the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #258, where Peter was being fought over by his regular red & blue costume and his new black symbiote costume. Awesome Venom cover! Great homage piece! I really like Owens inks over Bagley pencils! The styles compliment each other and mesh very well. Congrats man!

A great homage to classic ASM cover by Frenz. One legendary ASM artist homaging another, how great is that?!

Nice homage to one of my first comics - 250s ASM was one of my gateways :) Homage aside, though, a great piece of art in its own right! Bagley's stuff, particulary in the "Spider" world, is always so dynamic...like here! Congrats!

You are right, Paul, on top of it being a great homage, that cover really shows why Bagley is one of the best, especially on Spidey, Venom and co. And Andy inking is particularly solid and balanced. A great pairing. Congrats on another awesome cover!!!
