DescriptionFlash Thompson is back in the Marvel Universe! After being Agent Venom for many years, Flash became Agent Anti-Venom in Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc. Alpha, as pictured beautifully on this splash by the great Ryan Stegman. In Amazing Spider-Man #800, after sacrificing all of his anti-venom cleansing powers to heal Spidey and his friends, he died tragically after being mortally wounded by the Red Goblin. BUT it was recently revealed during "King in Black" that Flash Thompson’s consciousness still existed within the symbiote hive mind. After helping Eddie with his fight against Knull, Flash was able to return to life. Now, he's back in the mix, playing his part in Extreme Carnage Alpha, which I have not read yet! I am so behind on my reading !!! I still need to read King in Black !!!!!! I'm happy, though, to share this piece of art from when I was much more on top of things. Social/Sharing |

Ooh, he's really been watching his weight, nice thigh gap! Very nice illustration, I really like Stegman's art here. The "under the legs" shot is cool, too, especially as it allows Spidey to examine Flash's thigh gap!

I don't think this is the definition fo a thigh gap, but I'm willing to go along with it just for the joke.
All I wanted was a sweet distraction for an hour or two
Had no intention to buy the art Stegman's done
Funny how it always goes with art, when you don't look, you find
But then we're two of a kind, we bid as one
It's an all time thigh
We'll change all that's gone before
Doing so much more than Venom with guns
On an all time thigh
He'll take on the world and win
So web on tight, let the fight begin...

If that's not a thigh gap, I don't know what is. But never mind that now, let's all listen to the sweet, soothing sounds of Rita Coolidge.....

Not just ANY Rita Coolidge song, but from a James Bond movie no less.
Anyway, great splash Paul. Glad you included the colored page. In b&w, the costume reminds me a lof of Tarantula.

That's a great splash page! Very cool how Ryan changed his own layouts when he did the inks. Massive and beautiful piece. Congrats, Paul

Hey, I'm still adjusting to Flash having powers at all, so feel better about how behind you are, cause I'm stuck in the stone ages. :) Beautiful splash by Stegman. I love how crisp his work is, with super sharp inks. And I like how he handles light reflections by leaving out the ink and blending the edges a little. And the shock is palpable, he captured that perfectly. Another great Spidey piece. Congrats!

Great reveal! What a way to introduce the character. I'm a sucker for upward perspective shots :) And here, love the way Stegman rendered the lens sheen. And having that McFarlane-ish Eddie in the bg is a nice touch. Congrats!
