DescriptionQuite possibly my favorite Kubert art out there! This is such a cool piece of Kubert history! Always the innovator, in 1977 Joe put together a team of artists including Giordano, Elias, John Severin, Wildey, Aragones, Bissette, and of course himself to produce a treasuy-sized (12x17) publication called Sojourn. Here after 2 years of trying to get it, I have the first subscription ad art which features Tor about to go toe to toe with a very cool dinosaur. The piece itself is on 11x16.5 art board with the art measuring 3.75x15. The Sojourn logo is all hand drawn and it also includes a vellum overlay with "DELIVERED TO NAT. LAMPOON APRIL 13, 1977" written on it. One of so many things that attracts me to Kubert's work is his character posturing and here is such a great example on both Tor and the dinosaur. I'm also looking for the other Sojourn Tor pieces. See my want list for images of them and please let me know if they ever turn up. Social/Sharing |

Nice piece by the master, congrats. The character reminds me of Tarzan in this example.

Great piece--so much of what Kubert excelled at encapsulated in a little gem of an image. Awesome!
