Description

Well Jim Lee was the Superstar guest of the 2003 UK Comic Festival and pretty much everyone wanted to meet him - so much so that I lost track of the time spent in line to get this sketch! I think over several different sessions I was probably in line for a little over three hours (luckily after the first hour in the morning Jim had to leave to do a talk - so we were given raffle tickets to jump the afternoon line)!

He did some really amazing detailed pieces for those who were lucky enough to get him on the Saturday but unfortunately by the Sunday it was quick head sketches only.

I wasn't even sure what to ask him to do as apparently he was telling people asking for Batman "I draw Batman everyday - this is my holiday"! In the end I decided for Wolverine and wouldn't you know it - the guy right before me asked for... you guessed it, Wolverine! But it worked out 'cause I think mine looked a little better than his!
