Wrightson - Harry, The Happy Headsman

This is a piece I recently purchased from a really friendly dealer, and is part of the Trading Card Art pieces. I love the grimacing smile on this guys face and the way he wields his Headsman's Axe...

For those who are interested, this is # 61 from the 1993 FPG "Master of the Macabre" series.

On the back of the card Wrightson comments:

"Sometimes, if the paper is just absorbent enough, and if the markers are fresh and free-flowing, you can get an almost painted effect."

I don't believe that could be any more true than when you see this piece in person...

Yet another favorite... So much art, so little money...

And it's getting to be littler !!! :)
