Thanks for the detective work John, I added an image of Mike Grell's finished Page 3 version of Wrightson's concept art, and altered the listing accordingly.
If only wives appreciated an impending drowning on the living room wall... great piece, thanks for sharing and providing the page dialogue!
It appears Joe was able to take this little character on a darker path than Bernie... Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall while they were creating these!! Thanks for sharing!
You gotta love the way Wrightson used a Franklin Booth styling in many of his better works. Great page, thanks for sharing.
This is such a beautiful piece and I'm glad to read the story of yours and Bernie's intended collaboration. You may not have finished the fully imagined painting, but your tribute beautifully compliments the finished Wrightson pencils you completed several years back for me.
I was also fortunate enough to have Bernie sign the finished penciled image you completed for me, and he was really delighted to see you'd complimented his Werewolf's with a Jusko Girl...
Sure hope they publish the Wrightson tribute someday!
Thanks for posting this!
Bernie sold and signed 100s (if not 1000s) of these at his ComicCon appearances, and for a time I believe it could be ordered from his website...
I owned a limited edition Giclee of this piece, but then was fortunate enough to work with Bernie and Liz to purchase the original, and had Bernie sign it "in the art" so it could be framed like a plate.
This is one of my all time favorite Wrightson pieces!
This was one of the finished plates Bernie did for a Swamp Thing portfolio which never came to fruition, after DC refused to Bernie a fair share of the profits for its release...
I wanted to buy this beautiful page, but missed my opportunity...
Now I know where it went!!!
Congratulations

What a great moment in time... A master in the making!
Probably never will be a more fitting owner, but if you ever do decide to let this go, I'd like to be in the mix!

What beautiful details... Thanks for sharing and for all the art you drew out of Bernie! :)
Hey Steve,
What a great presentation of Wrightson's Frankenstein plate history... Very cool.
What a great tribute piece from Wrightson to Eisner... I'm a bit of a Wrightson fanatic myself, since the first time I saw his work around 1972/73... I have an appreciation for many of the greats, to include King "Frazetta", but Wrightson's work was unique and fit my personal interests (and imagination) to a tee...
Thanks for sharing!
A beautiful page with great presentation... Congratulations.
Very cool... I picked up a few of the castle images for the Frankenberry, Count Chocula, and Boo Berry cereal commercial ads myself... Bernie had a great eye for bringing out text!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what a beauty she is... In her own right!

Thanks for posting all these great pieces of Wrightson history... Love the prelim and completed frame composition...
Bernie and Liz had the finished pages in Dallas a few years back, glad it was in a binder so I didn't drool on the originals... If only money wasn't such an obstacle in my life... :( Thanks for sharing this awesome preliminary to a masterpiece!
I agree with Steve... Other than what I believe to be the "Iron Man" mask, I may not know the characters, but it's a great spin on Wrightson, just lacking the Ax. :)
I held these pages in my hands last years and was ever so tempted... Very cool Rob... Congratulations!
I think this has grail drawn all over it. Very cool...
It's amazing to see how the mind of Bernie Wrightson works from concept masterpiece... Thanks for sharing these!
