Description

A gorgeous Stout Alien I picked up from the last CAF Live; thanks to Matt at Pop Sequentialism.

Stout's inks are just exemplary on this piece; it's drawn on toned paper that in reality has a bit more of a beighish/green tint to it, that was hard to pick up in the scan; there is a bit of white ink added to the teeth, dripping acid and highlights to the head dome. Drawn in Stout's more refined style, rather than the quicker, looser feel that some of his con sketches have.

Published in his 'Monsters Sketchbook Volume Two.' from 2002.

Great designed pose like one of his dinosaur illustrations with the different surface textures fully realized.

Of course we all knew he didn't just draw dinosaurs. A truly unique Stout piece that is cooler than cool. Congrats!

Learned last night that you beat Bill Cox to get this, so congrats to you (and condolences to Bill)!
