Classic Golden and amazing inks by Austin...congrats on an awesome piece. It pairs nicely with your pencilled piece.
Very cool! And yeah, nice for him to do a character he hasn't drawn 100000x before.
Super cool vintage Golden sketch! Love to see these con sketches from his early years.
So cool! Love the shading..these are perfection!!
Way cool! You don't see too many Kamen Rider commissions on here...he did an outstanding job! Love it!
Cool, classic Kirbyesque page!
Thanks!...and thanks to Jean at SpiderWebArt...love the pieces you recently picked up. I was surprised this one was priced so low compared to the others in this poster series...and it's one of the nicest ones! And with their Thursday wish list, I got it for a 1/3 of the oriignal already reasonable asking price!
Absolutely beautifui! He really did an amazing job! Congrats!
Very dynamic piece. Maybe it can be mounted to a heavier weight board?
Superb piece...congrats on a gorgeous work of art!
That's some collection and uoload of Arthur Adams pieces! Absolutely love this one...they're all awesome..congrats!
Cool! I've got the finished cover for this. Never saw the prelim.
This is an awesome piece! I absolutely love Cho's pencil work...definitely one of my favorite pieces in the show. Congrats!
What a gorgeous cover...! The inks are absoutely impecable and what's so amazing is that these guys were creating this new art form at the time.....they didn't hve decades and decades of examples of inking lines and styles to look at...This was a new art form being created. Just an astonishing drawing. Congratulations on owning this piece of history.
Fantastic painted piece! He's so great with color and likeness.
Haha, Damn, I'd love that!!!
Thank you, Eric! Yeah it really is dynamic and I dig the foreshortening on the legs to get it all in the pic...it really works for this piece.
Thanks, yeah, cheaper than it would be in person these days, I'd think. And I really love the pose on this one.
Russ is great with likenesses. He told me he paused some of the movies to get images that might not be the more common publicity shot ones we're accustomed to seeing.
Thanks, Lance. Yeah, these came out really cool. Love the Frank..I think the Werewolf might be my fave, just because of that cool lighting. I'm going to be keeping my framer guy in business with all of these new ones! Now, just gotta find more wall space!
Yes! lol The Vashta Nerada. It was actually based on a drawing of my own (unrelated to Dr Who!) but he changed it up a bit and I guess it does look like the Dr Who character somewhat.
Beautiful early Adams! Love the pencils! Good on Lance for offering it up!
These are absolutely beautiful, Lance. Great choices of characters, too. Congrats.
That is absolutely mind-blowing..and to think that's a commission!?? WOW!
He went ABOVE and BEYOND...I completely and utterly LOVE This...it's got everything!
Seriously, this is a major piece and deserves major congratulations on acquiring it. Incredible!
That's so awesome! I love out of the box commissions and even though, like you said it's definitely Arthur Adams, he's drawn it in a Mazzucchelli inspired style.
Mindblowingly amazing! And wow! An Ebay win..big time congrats for this incredible piece.
Came out great and you got a sweet deal for the price paid! (I was watching the WhatNot stream). It's so clean.
Hahah well the one I gave him wasn't quite so elaborate or personal. It was one of the gashapon type things, where it was a few pieces that got put together and formed a little scene. Godzilla and maybe a base with a few buildings. Godzilla was maybe 4" high, if that.
And, that wouldn't be a fun world to be in, if there was no Arthur Adams art to buy! I didn't realize he had made that decision at one point; I'm figuring he must still have a decent amount of his own art that he's held back.
When I saw him at NYCC last year and mentioned I had the art for the inside cover and back cover of Monkey Man And O'Brien #3, he asked me if I'd be willing to sell it to him. (I politely declined; if I ever did, It would have to be for a prety damn nice, large size commision - with some full bodies!)...I'm figuring that art must be one he regrets selling back in the day.
lol I see what you mean...it is a cool hand pose! Now, let's not start talking about feet...
Thanks, Eric. I'm very happy to have been able to get a full body piece, but I dig the headshots, too, as a lot of emotion and detail can be achieved in the face if it's larger...It's not too often he does full body sketches these days, and especially of Godzilla, so this one is special, for sure.
That's so cool you got to go to his apartment; I'm sure he's got tons of Godzilla figures (I've got a couple of friends that are pretty insane Godzilla collectors and I'd hedge my bets on who has more!); I gave him a small figure (little diorama style) when I saw him at East Coast Comic Con in, I believe, 2015. I don't think he had it! :)
