Description

This gorgeous Adams Man-Thing arrived in the mail today from a Heritage win. I somehow sat on another Man-Thing that Anthony had for months and of course when I finally was ready to go for it, it was gone. You snooze you lose is #truth...so when this came up on Heritage last month I knew I had to go for it.

This one was done for Charity as well, so, bonus. This is my second Adams color pen drawing, the other the Red Dark Phoenix. I was a little concerned when the scan on the Heritage site showed up fairly light, but I figured it's got to look way better in person and I was not disappointed. The actual pen is darker than what was on Heritage and my scan much more accurately reflects the original than that washed out one that's up on their site.

8 1/8" X 11.5" image area on an 8.25" X 11.75" sheet of Deleter mid weight, smooth drawing paper.

Simply fantastic modern masterwork by Adams! The crosshatching in this kind of pen takes a lot of meticulous planning and finger cramping to achieve this type of look.

They eyes may be blank, but no less menacing. It's all the incredible work around them that defines the emotion.

This is wild! I own a very similar green Man-Thing by Arthur as well, that I got from him at SDCC 2019. Never saw a similar one until now. But they look great! Congrats!

Hey Dave, first off, thanks! Second, yours is awesome!! He did so many predone drawings for SDCC in 2019. Yours looks like it was drawn with a bit darker green pen, a little closer to Man-Thing's real color lol. Great pickup - Art is amazing!
