DescriptionMike drew the Annihilation Conquest: Quasar miniseries where Phyla-Vel took the mantle from Wendell Vaughan. I was a big fan of Peter David's Captain Marvel series, which these two were refuges from, and I thought the direction Annihilation brought them in was excellent. Mike was clearly as a big a fan as I was and had a blast working on it, and we plan to collaborate on more.Social/Sharing |

If it were a published piece I'd consider this a Grail item. As it is a commission I'll simply say you are extremely fortunate to have this amazing illustration of these two lovely characters. Now if only Marvel would revive Phyla...

It really is cover worthy (though digital colors would be better for publication) Good to hear from another Phyla fan. She died as Martyr, so I'm sure she'll be back as soon as someone wants to use her

This commission is KILLER and of two of my favorite characters to boot. Wow! I'll have to keep Mike Lilly in mind for a commission. (I'm lucky enough to have a few of his pages already so I know firsthand just how good he is.)
