DescriptionI love this piece. This is the 2nd comic book that I ever remember buying, and possibly the book that I've read the most. The fantastic cover drew my right in, the title splash is killer, and the message in the story throughout is EXACTLY why I am a lifelong Cap fan. It is my absolute favorite standalone issue of all time. The original artwork by Alan Kupperberg is great and, aside from missing the lettering in the final panel, it's in perfect condition. I framed it with the open page showing from the published comic, as well as the actual book that I bought way back in 1980. Well, technically, my grandpa bought it because I was only 3, but it has lasted all this time and now it's framed with the original art. The warden in this story was an old WW2 buddy of Cap's, and with my grandfather being a former WW2 mechanic, it always resonated with me on a personal level and it still reminds me of my late, great grandpa after all these years. If you have ANY pages from this story, please let me know as I am trying to complete it. Social/Sharing |

I love the way you have had this piece framed with the open page and the cover, tells the complete story.

I have the same picture from NYC 2010 :) I cut all the mats for my framed pieces, just so they end up exactly as I want them. If you do a bunch of framed artwork, a good mat cutter is a worthwhile investment. If I has this one to do over again, I'd love the comic cover about an inch-and-a-half and put an engraved label right above it.
