Description

Young was on to something with these early Blondie dailies. The flapper girl who captures the heart of an heir to billions who gives it all up for the love of his life. It would be a few years still before Blondie moved into the domestic life comedy space it would occupy for the next 90+ years. Yes, it is still going! I really like the domestic comedy and read it faithfully in my youth in the Sundays (Saturdays here in Canada). Now as an art collector I really like these early dailies where the style was more naive and fun and not as polished as Young would later get. Fun stuff

Almost unrecognizable as Blondie as this was just two months in and the look hadn't been fully defined yet.

Yup, Blondie was a favourite strip of mine growing up and the earliest ones are really fun to read and admire, as the characters were so different compared to what they evolved into being over four decades later when I began reading them as a kid in the 70's.
