DescriptionWow! One of the coolest penciller/inker pairings I've seen in quite a while!John Buscema pencils enhanced very nicely by the lovely fluid brushwork of Frank Springer - and such a nice dialogue page, with Len Wein on the writing reins. An all-around classic vintage Bronze Age winner! Social/Sharing |

Now that is something quite special.
Certainly is - more so, as it was actually a gift! I'm not sure I'd be able to part with such an amazing page myself!

Beautiful piece by John Buscema!!!
Thank you Pheng - it's one of my favourite pages in my collection. All the Big John bells and whistles, and Frank Springer adds a gorgeous fluidity with his brushwork, making the whole package a real object of desire!

Lovely page! That last panei is really superb. The Man-Thing is entering the scene from a gap between the trees, but the layout and angle of the rest of the scene, and the framing of the characters, draws the eye towards it - as though the whole panel is a tunnel through which the Man-Thing lumbers. Really clever work. Nice page!

Loving the depth of your appreciation, Paul. I agree, that last panel is a doozy and the whole design works so well to lead the eye where Big John wants it to go. I'm so impressed by how Frank Springer's fluid inking style complements Buscema's pencils too.

I believe Mrs Buscema may have also called it that. Giant-Size, to boot... 😉
Everyone needs a big of Big John in their collection!
