One of the all-time classics. This had me tearing up when I read it decades ago. It still has great emotional resonance. Starlin at his best. 

Amazing! BWS is such a Master - the design, the linework, the shadows...sublime. You've done very, very well to pick this beauty up. It's also so much nicer to buy direct from the artist, especially if you either meet them or have a dialogue with them. Barry is one of the greats!

WOWWW!! Hitch does one of the most savage Hulk renditions ever! Love his work on Hulk in The Ultimates (and boy was I stoked when I finally nabbed one of his stunning Hulk DPSs from the series) and he knocks it right out of the park here too. Great choice, and another example of glorious and worthy display in the framing. 

Got to say, Hulk Ultimate Destruction was one great game too. I've got some of the Hitch's Hulkbuster designs from it and they are amazing. Hitch is an all-rounder!

And I couldn't agree more (which is why I fell for this page and the spot and had to have it) - Give Me Liberty is indeed a landmark work, perhaps somewhat overlooked but a real classic. And I feel it's spirit of resistance and heroism in the face of tyranny & cruelty is more relevant than ever. Also a damn good read!

Thanks Bill! Same, I love the intensity of the colours, they way they make the inks pop (more so on the guides than the printed page, sadly - the reproduction on the graphic novel was muddier) and the dynamic abstract movements and patterns in the pure colour when stripped of the black inks. 

I don't usually go for colour guides at all, but these ones really struck a chord. 

That's a cracking design page! Love the contrast of the dynamic loose pencils with those crisp inks. Bags of character!

Absolutely! So many spot-on characters in that sketch folio - but at the end of the day, the most important art is the art that connects with the viewer. This one really got me.

And I was go smacked at this prelim, it did indeed stand out as being the most detailed and complete, as well as appealing to my weird sci-fi sensibilities!

Honestly, Ron, I was never expecting to be in that club - but sometimes a piece speaks to you big time, and if the price also happens to be right, you know it's the only chance you'll get. I actually piad a little more than he was asking, because it's great to get a bargain but even more important to deal fairly - especially when you're fortunate enough to be chatting with the artist themselves!

It is indeed! Kane's work became much stronger and more dynamic as the years passed - for me, his prime is the stuff he was doing in the 1980s - and anything with pure Kane pencils and inks is worth having! 

Well, if the Prince of Atlantis finds it appealing, who am I to argue? IMPERIUS REX!

Oh yeah! Those slapstick elements drew me right in! It's just pure comic book silliness, one of the best elements of the Silver Age. And Kane delivers with the very best of them!
