My son Matthew went with me on a trip to John Byrne's to pick up some oversized commissions in 2007; he loved seeing the originals and on our way back home he and I talked about what his dream piece might be. We came up with the idea of Flash (Matt's favorite character), Batman, and Green Lantern vs. Gorilla Grodd, Joker, and Sinestro. I relayed the request to John Byrne and he created this wonderful piece for Matthew. It was John's idea to include Matthew's name in the background (spelled out in the buildings). I took Matt with me to John's when I picked up the original and he was thrilled to find out this amazing piece was his! The original is 20" x 30".
